The theme of the 2017 Donington Historic Festival was ‘get involved’, with spectators invited to get behind the wheel or in the passenger seat for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Here’s what was on offer….

Try your hand at stunt driving

Precision driving legend Paul Swift – the expert behind the Top Gear Live stunts – offered stunt driving lessons – teaching people how to J-turn and drift a car 360 degrees.

Learn to drift…

Visitors could learn how to drift a Caterham with BookaTrack, the UK’s leading track day provider.

… or enjoy a drift ride

Those who would rather experience drifting from the passenger seat could experience tyre squealing action at the hands of one of BookaTrack’s professional instructors.

Drive Donington!

Visitors parking in the infield – either on one of the car club stands or in the Pre-1990 Display Parking area –  could drive their own car round Donington Park in one of the Festival’s lunchtime parades.

Go auto solo

Go Motorsport’s auto solo passenger rides gave visitors a great taster of autotesting – a fantastic way to get into competitive motorsport.

Take a Dream Ride

The very generous members of the Sporting Bears Motor Club gave Festival visitors 10-mile passenger rides on public roads in the Donington Park area in one of their classic and sports cars in exchange for donations to a children’s charity. For 2017 the locally based STEPS Conductive Education Centre ( ) was the charity nominated.
